Pops & Drops: Family Dollar, AOL...

Following are moves you might have missed. Find out why shares of Family Dollar and AOL popped while Lions Gate and Agrium dropped.

POPS (stocks that jumped higher)

Family Dollar (FDO) popped 4%. Shares of this and other discount stores all rose after rival Dollar General topped Wall Street's expectations with its second-quarter profit. - Not too shabby, says Jon Najarian.

AOL (AOL) popped 2%. Published reports suggested the Internet company's management may take the company private. - I think the stock has more room on the upside, says Guy Adami.

Genesco (GCO) popped 8%. The retailer said it experienced big revenue gains from its Journeys shoe and Lids hat stores and also raised its fiscal 2012 earnings forecast. - It's a good stock but considering the gains, I'd take profits, says Brian Kelly.

Jos. A. Bank Clothiers (JOSB) popped 8%. The company beat expectations with earnings that rose 25%, and they said August same-store sales gained despite the effects of the hurricane. - It seems like it's doing well, says Mike Khouw.

DROPS (stocks that slid lower)

Lions Gate (LGF) dropped 7%. Viewed as someone who can unlock shareholder value, investors were disappointed to learn Carl Icahn planned to sell his stake in this company. - That's a big drop, says Tim Seymour.

Agrium (AGU) dropped 3%. Perhaps the move was technical with some chart watchers suggesting the stock was making a bearish pattern. - I bought a little more on the pullback, reveals Stephen Weiss, I like it.
