It’s not easy to cover a song – let alone this classic, but Ben Bernnake is giving it a whirl.

We’re talking about the Twist – the Chubby Checker tune that became an anthem of the 1960’s.

Of course, Bernanke’s version will have much more of a Street beat – in this version the central bank sells shorter-term securities to buy longer-term holdings.

The last time the Fed made a similar move was 1961.

We thought if the Street stands any chance of having a hit with the re-make, we’d better first check-in with the man who made the Twist a household favorite - Chubby Checker.

And it’s a good thing we did. Chubby tells us “the Twist has always meant money for everyone!”
