The $1.8 Million Zenvo Supercar

In the rarified air of ultra luxury supercars, the newest model to roll into the US will turn heads. Not because it will fly by you in a blur (0-60 in 2.9 seconds) or because thee price tag of $1.8 million dollars makes it among the most expensive cars in the world. No, the reason jaws will drop when the Zenvo ST-1 50S zips by is because there are so few of these supercars on U.S. roads To be exact, only three have been sold here in the states.

All together, Denmark based Zenvo is making just 15 of the ST-1 50S models. One of the first ones arrived at CNBC headquarters for us to take a quick spin. As my producer Meghan described it, "You're not riding in this car for comfort. This is for drivers who want the ultimate in power and speed." Needless to say, she was impressed.

Emporio Motor Group out of New York City is selling the car exclusively in the US. Bobby Khan, President and CEO of Emporio described how the very exclusive car is sold. "You get on a waiting list, place your order, we fly you to the factory," said Khan. "You are going to pick out everything from colors, interiors, fabrics, leather, wheels, whatever you want. In eight months the car will be ready for you and they will fly it over."

Zenvo has a team of "flying doctors" that are part of the ST-1 50S concierge service. This is the crew that not only brings you the car, but will fly over to handle any maintenance that is needed. And yes, in case, you are wondering, that's included in the $1.8 million price tag.

Jesper Jensen, the CEO of Zenvo says the US version of the car, with a 7-litre V8 engine and 1,250 horsepower, has more power than other version of the supercar being sold around the world. And while Zenvo is shipping to the US, Russia, Europe and China, you can't buy it in the company's home country of Denmark.

Why?

Jensen says the supercar would be super expensive, "We have this system in Denmark where we are paying 180% tax on the price of the car and on top of that we pay 25% VAT (value added tax) in total so it adds up that it costs 3.2 times the price of the car"
