On Tuesday investors took the stock market lower, in part due to the latest reports out of the Mideast suggesting that Iran may be another step closer to having nuclear weapons.
According to a a Senior Revolutionary Guard commander, Iran’s military test-fired four missiles during a military drill in the strategic Strait of Hormuz.
However, on the Kudlow Report, Gen. Barry McCaffrey suggested that reports were at best exaggerated.
Any kind of action is Iran “trying to project immense military power that they don’t have,” he said.
McCaffrey went on to describe Iran's military as aging and incompetent. “We'd take them down in 30 days. I
However he added “they have the mine warfare capability to shut down the Persian gulf in the event of a confrontation. Military action is not the answer.”
Speaking at the UN President Obama said he remains committed to a diplomatic solution over Iran's nuclear program, though "time is not unlimited."
