MyWay is built on a legacy Aprima "core" product, which Aprima has since upgraded with nearly a thousand enhancements, including hundreds of substantive improvements to the Practice Management system. Aprima is offering a lifeline to these stranded users with a free, simple upgrade to a fully compliant EMR and PM that has the same look and feel as MyWay.

This will circumvent the need for MyWay users to switch to another Allscripts EMR product, which would require a complete change in systems, plus an arduous data conversion and retraining period. In fact, the only thing that would remain the same for these users is the Allscripts name - which has been in the news quite a bit lately after half of the company's market value was erased.
