Banner Health becomes one of the first health care systems in the nation to offer single patient accounts for their customers

PHOENIX, Oct. 9, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Banner Health, one of the largest nonprofit hospital systems in the nation, is also one of the first in the country to provide its customers one billing statement for all outstanding balances from all of its Banner providers which includes its hospitals, physician groups, home care and other providers of care. This single billing statement replaces multiple statements from multiple providers.

Patients who receive care at any Banner Health facility will enjoy these benefits of having a single bill:

  • One point of contact for outstanding Banner accounts
  • The option for customers to pay any balance owed on multiple accounts from a single, consolidated statement
  • The option to process payments either by phone, online or through the mail
  • The flexibility to pay a portion of the balances owed to multiple providers over time, rather than having to pay all balances in full at one time

"We listened to our customers and we're doing our part to provide excellent service," says Betsy Sullivan, vice president of revenue cycle for Banner Health. "Our customers told us that receiving multiple statements from different providers caused confusion and misunderstanding as to what they actually owed. We wanted to streamline this process so they have one bill that's easy to understand without all the paper clutter."
