Café Adobe Completes Buyout of Original Partners

Borochoff Plans Future Growth

HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Café Adobe announced today that it has bought out all of its original partners and that Bob Borochoff, CEO and Managing Partner of Café Adobe, now has 100% ownership of the Café Adobe brand and control of the four-restaurant Café Adobe chain.

“Café Adobe is an iconic brand in Houston and I’m excited about its future,” said Borochoff. “I’m looking forward to expanding beyond our four stores.”

“Café Adobe is a strong and healthy company that is actively negotiating for new locations,” Borochoff continued. “This deal provides Café Adobe, which has been consistently profitable and is well capitalized, with clarity of ownership, four locations and a strong operating platform to fuel future growth.”

Due to the unfortunate and untimely death of Café Adobe partner Scott Cragin, Café Adobe has completed the sale of the land where the original Café Adobe now stands at 2111 Westheimer to provide for Cragin’s family and the buyout of its partners. Borochoff, who bought into the company six years ago, emphasized that the Westheimer restaurant will continue to operate as usual and will move to a new location in the same area next year.

Since 1981, Café Adobe has transported the warmth and feel of a laid-back casual villa on the coast of Mexico to Houston. All of the authentic recipes are prepared fresh daily with the finest ingredients. Café Adobe has won numerous awards over the years, including Best Margarita, Best Tex-Mex, Best Mexican Restaurant, Best Happy Hour and Best Patio.

The four Houston-area Café Adobe locations are River Oaks, 2111 Westheimer; the Marq*E Entertainment Center in Spring Branch-Memorial, I-10 at Silber; Sugar Land across from Town Square on Highway 6; and Clear Lake next to Baybrook Mall, I-45 at W. Bay Area Blvd.
