HSC Foundation signs MOU with National Institute of Child Health and Human Development

WASHINGTON, Oct. 9, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- The HSC Foundation formally entered into an agreement with the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development at a signing ceremony with the organization's two lead executives. Dr. Thomas W. Chapman, President and CEO of The HSC Foundation, and Dr. Alan E. Guttmacher, Director of the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development, signed a Memorandum of Understanding today establishing an agreement to create a partnership to collaborate in activities related to the health and welfare of children, youth, and families.

"This partnership represents a wonderful opportunity for our two organizations to bring our respective expertise to projects that promote the good health of children, youth, and families and prevent disease and disability through research and related activities. The HSC Foundation is honored to participate in this partnership with National Institute of Child Health and Human Development," Dr. Chapman stated.

Dr. Guttmacher commented, "Our two institutions share important common goals, which include improving the health and lives of individuals who face unique challenges. This collaboration should deepen our understanding of how individuals, families, and communities cope with health needs and manage transitions throughout the lifespan."

The two organizations have established a Partnership Working Group that will establish a specific agenda for collaborative projects that fulfill their common purpose.
