S.Korea c.bank sharply cuts growth forecasts

SEOUL, Oct 11 (Reuters) - South Korea's central bank sharplycut its economic growth forecasts for this year and next aftertrimming interest rates for the second time this year to shoreup Asia's fourth-largest economy on Thursday, its governor said.

The Bank of Korea cut this year's economic growth forecastto 2.4 percent from 3.0 percent set in July and that for nextyear to 3.2 percent from 3.8 percent, Governor Kim Choong-sootold reporters.
