Beautiful and Eccentric Japanese Hair Show @ Notting Hill Gate for the Memory of Vidal Sassoon 13th October 2012 @2:00PM Notting Hill Gate, London

SHIZUOKA, Japan--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- The life of Vidal Sassoon will be celebrated on 12 October at a memorial service at St Paul's Cathedral in London. The legendary hairdresser died on 9th of May at his home in Los Angeles, California at the age of 84. He was responsible for creating iconic styles such as The Bob, The Greek Goddess and The Five Point Cut. Synonymous with the 'Swinging '60s', his attitude to hairdressing helped women reject the stiff bouffants of the '50s for the freedom of 'wash and wear' cuts.
In recent years, Sassoon had taken the time to look back at his incredible life and career. He published a memoir, Vidal: The Autobiography, and was the subject of a documentary, Vidal Sassoon The Movie, produced by Bumble and bumble creator Michael Gordon.

Yoshimi OKAMOTO, the performer, was one of his students who won the several prizes on Hair Cutting Contest, produced by Vidal Sassoon. She also graduated his academy schools both in Los Angeles and in San Francisco. She has decided to fly over to UK, in order to attend his memorial service with her successors, and to carry out this performance.

The Street Performance
Yoshimi herself looks like a priest of Buddhism. And the models are going to wear Japanese classic kimono with fabric that was woven approximately over 100 years ago, during the Edo period in Japan. The additional accessories and ornamental hair pins are also authentic antiques as well. At this show, the performer will be wearing kimono.
The unique techniques of Japanese beauticians would be remarkably enjoyable.
After the show, models and beauticians will walk through the Portobello Market.
The witness would think that they came out of a scene of Japanese old film.
