Labor Department releases the September Producer PriceIndex, 8:30 a.m. (1230 GMT). Economists in a Reuters surveyforecast a 0.7 percent rise compared with a 1.7 percent rise inAugust. Excluding volatile food and energy items, PPI isexpected to rise 0.2 percent, a repeat of the August increase.

Thomson Reuters/University of Michigan Surveys of Consumersrelease October preliminary consumer sentiment index, 9:55 a.m.(1355 GMT). Economists in a Reuters survey expect a reading of78.0 compared with 78.3 in the final September report.

Economic Cycle Research Institute releases its weekly indexof economic activity for Oct. 5, 10:30 a.m. (1430 GMT). In theprior week, the index read 126.3.

Treasury Department issues monthly budget for September, 2p.m. (1800 GMT). Economists in a Reuters survey forecast a $42.0billion surplus compared with a August budget deficit of $191.0billion.
