Houston CPA Society’s 26th Annual Personal Financial Planning Conference

HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- The 26th Annual Personal Financial Planning (PFP) Conference, hosted by the Houston CPA Society, will be held Tuesday, October 30, 2012. The 2012 conference will take place at the J.W. Marriott Hotel at 5150 Westheimer.

The PFP conference is uniquely designed each year to provide attendees with current information on topics relevant to financial planning and can benefit attendees both personally and professionally. The conference also holds the distinction of being the only such event presented by any of the 20 chapters of the Texas Society of CPAs.

Accountants and financial planners will receive 9 hours of CPE and CFP credit by attending presentations given by industry-leading planners, accountants, investment professionals, attorneys and economists.

The keynote speaker will be Stephen J. Bigge. Mr. Bigge is a partner with Keebler & Associates and is a highly-respected voice in the financial planning industry. He specializes in estate, gift and retirement planning, charitable gift planning and trust and estate administration.

This year’s featured luncheon presentation will be an economic outlook by Rice University’s Kinder Institute. Their transformational film, “Interesting Times,” based on 30 years of research and study by renowned sociologist Dr. Stephen Klineberg, will be shown as part of the presentation.

In March 1982, Dr. Klineberg initiated the annual Houston Area Survey, which tracks the changes in the demographic patterns, life experiences, attitudes and beliefs of Harris County residents. If you want to know exactly where our city is and where we’re headed, this is the presentation to attend!
