In CNBC's new reality show The Car Chasers, Jeff Allen buys and flips classic and exotic cars at Flat 12 gallery, his auto shop and gallery in Lubbock, Texas. The shop uses a blend of old school techniques and new age science in its approach to refurbishing and upgrading cars.

Whether it's a rare model from the 1930s, a muscle car previously owned by a celebrity or a fixer-upper with sentimental value, Flat 12 looks to push the envelope when working on any project. The result is a range of unique vehicles, many of them on display at the shop, that can satisfy the taste of even the most critical buyer. Often, the team at Flat 12 is hard-pressed to let them go.

The following are some of the most intriguing car projects completed by Flat 12. Some are still on display, others have already been sold to car enthusiasts.

This vehicle's 427 engine is coded with the date when it was built by Chevrolet. The Yenko clone is named after drag racer Don Yenko, famous for creating his own high-powered version of the Chevrolet Camaro.

With genuine Yenko Camaros currently selling for $350,000 to $500,000, this clone would sell in today's market for under $100,000, according to Flat 12.

Allen calls this model "a real-deal nostalgia race car." This 1957 Chevy 150 was built in California and raced there in the 1960s and '70s during the heyday when the state was dotted with drag racing strips, he said.

The same family owned this car until early 2009. The engine is out of a dual quad 1958 Corvette finished off with 65/66 Corvette "Fuelie" double hump heads. "If this car could talk, boy the stories we would hear," said Allen.

The 1931 Model A is an old school street rod built when these cars were coming into their own. "This is the real steel deal!" said Allen. The car is finished with a 1932 grill and chrome reverse wheels. Allen sees the car as a classic hot rod that brings to mind images of "American Graffiti" street racing and when building your own custom ride was ordinary practice.

This is 1951 Ford Victoria is powered by a 351 Windsor under thehood and features a finished exterior with custom scalloped paint. This car was used as a prototype for parts by JAMCO, a source for aftermarket suspension and breaks, touring the United States for cruise nights, car shows and industry events, Allen says.

This example is finished with a pro-touring theme and billet grille, second-generation fog lights, a color keyed Endura bumper, Eddie Motor Sports taillights and Procar seats. But this car isn't only pretty on the outside. Under the hood, the car is powered by a freshly build 454 big blockengine and shifted by a 4-speed manual transmission.

This car is a custom "one-off" and has been featured in numerous automotive magazines over the years, says Allen. He said the car has been customized from head to toe, "literally from its grill to its Parkard taillights." The car is an all steel build with a "baby book" that would rival anyone else's work, he said.

1969 Chevrolet Nova

This car is another out of Flat 12 with a Yenko tribute theme. It is powered by a big block engine and shifted by a 4 speed "but built to drive," Allen said. "This is high quality restoration you don't see everyday, even finished in an eye-catching stinger hood," he said.

This car was made famous by the iconic "Miami Vice" television series, which featured replicas of the Ferrari Daytona Spyder from the bodywork company McBurnie. The car is believed to be one of 12 actually built by McBurnie and one of the last to leave the factory. The car is powered by a reliable 350 V8 and is shifted by an automatic transmission.

Called "the celebrity Trifecta" by Allen, this car was previously owned by two celebrities -- Tim Allen and Reggie Jackson -- and was built by the late "Mopar guru" Dick Landy. The engine is numbers matched and customized by Tim Allen… but don't worry, saidAllen, "she still has all her original parts."

1965 NAF Cobra Kit Car

This car is finished like an AC racecar, says Allen. "With the Cobra market skyrocketing after Carroll Shelby's death, getting your hands on an authentic Cobra would mean paying top-dollar. Right now, this is a car you can buy and drive and still make a few bucks down the road," he said.
