Facebook shares were up slightly ahead of its media event to unveil the company's "New Home on Android."
The MSCI REIT Index hit its highest level since Nov. 2007. Apartment Investment and Management, and all traded at new 52-week highs.
Huntsman jumped on an upgrade from Monness, Crespit, Hardt to "buy" From "neutral," with a price target of $25 per share.
CenturyLink was upgraded to "overweight" from "neutral" at JPMorgan following a meeting with the telecom's management.
MetroPCS Communications got a lift from improvements in contract customer losses at T-Mobile USA. Deutsche Telekom's T-Mobile and MetroPCS have an agreement to merge that is subject to shareholder approval on April 12.
