Groupon weighs warehouse network for goods business: WSJ

Coupon purveyor Groupon is mulling the creation of a warehouse network for its physical goods business, The Wall Street Journal reported on Wednesday, which may become an effort to muscle-in on the turf of Internet giant Amazon.com.

Groupon CEO Eric Lefkofsky told the Journal in an interview that the Chicago-based company is considering adding several warehouses over time, and already has its eye on a space in Kentucky.

Although the company's plans could spell competitive trouble for Amazon in the long-term, a Groupon spokesman told the Journal that the company currenctly does not have "a specific number of warehouses planned."
