Ford CEO Alan Mulally has become the frontrunner to replace Steve Ballmer as CEO of Microsoft, technology website AllThingsD reported on Thursday.
The site, citing people with knowledge of the situation, said Mulally was at first resistant to the idea but has become open to it in recent weeks.
Mulally has supplanted Stephen Elop, the former Nokia boss, as the leading candidate, AllThingsD said.
