Warren Buffett has made no secret of his love of "Breaking Bad," and he told CNBC that he gives the finale an A-plus.

"Breaking Bad" creator Vince Gilligan is a "genius," Buffett said at the end of a "Squawk Box" interview on Thursday—high praise from the billionaire investor who's considered a genius in his own right.

Buffett added, "It's the best written, best acted thing I've ever seen."

Right before the record-breaking finale, he sent out a Twitter homage to "Heisenberg," the alias for the show's meth-kingpin Walter White, portrayed by Bryan Cranston.

@WarrenBuffett tweeted:

Buffett admitted that he had someone on his behalf send out the tweet to his 650,000-plus followers. It's only his third tweet since he signed up on Twitter in May.

He won't say whether the photo was "photoshopped," saying the image speaks for itself.

"That's my hat though," he quipped.
