Archer Daniels Midland - Shares fell nearly 3 percent after Australia blocked its takeover bid for GrainCorp, with the country acquiescing to concerns from grain producers.
Renren - Shares declined after the Chinese social-media company reported its first year-on-year revenue drop since going public, with Morgan Stanley cutting its price target on its shares from $3.10 to $2.70.
Amazon and eBay both gained, with the online retailers rising on hopes for the holiday shopping weekend.

Best Buy and Coach climbed on signals of a strong start to Black Friday.
Apple - Shares rose in the wake of a report that had the company accounting for three quarters of all smartphones sales in Japan last month.
