British Airways, EasyJet and Ryanair are among the airlines canceling flights ahead of a 24-hour strike in France scheduled for Tuesday, the The Telegraph reports.
"France's DGAC civil aviation authority said airlines were reducing their flights into and out of Parisian airports by 30 percent and those to and from the cities of Lyon, Marseille, Nice and Toulouse by 20 percent," the British paper reported.
By Monday afternoon, 49 flights at Charles de Gaulle/Roissy and 24 flights at Paris Orly had already been canceled for Tuesday, according to FlightAware, a tracking service. (See the latest air travel status here.)
Air France has already canceled 8 percent of its flights for Tuesday while its subsidiary, Regional Compagnie Aerienne Europeenne, canceled 22 percent, according to FlightAware.
The work action by the air traffic controllers was called in response to President Francois Hollande's proposed cuts to payroll taxes and spending. Read the full story at The Telegraph.
