Neutral but rather be consistently bullish: Gartman

Dennis Gartman, editor of The Gartman Letter, is trading as fast as the markets are moving this year. Since March, he has laid out his calls from bullish to neutral to "scared" and back to bullish again.

But the stock market's recent action had him starting out this week back on the sidelines.

"I do not like switching back and forth. It's not fun," he said on CNBC's "Fast Money." "I would rather be consistently bullish. It's still a bull market and the worst that I'll become is neutral of stocks."

While Gartman has garnered some criticism for his fast pace changes, in a note to investors on Monday he said, "Let the bloggers have their fun."
