Shares of GoPro, a maker of cameras that adventure-seekers can mount to their equipment, have taken off after hitting the market Thursday. However, it's not only investors who are hoping to profit from the company's success.
Mike Kintner, founder and CEO of the small start-up 360Hero, has invented a gadget that helps photographers take panoramic videos with GoPro cameras.

A six-camera holder "allows you take full spherical video in HD," Kintner told CNBC's "Power Lunch."
"It's an incredible type of experience you can get with that."
The camera holders are made of nylon and are printed from a 3-D printer. The six-camera mount retails for $495. There is also a 14-camera holder that creates 3-D 360 video. It has a price tag of $995.

Discovery Network photographers are already using 360Hero's products to shoot "Shark Week" footage.
Kintner said he's looking for his company to be about more than just great products.
"It's about the people that want to get involved in it … we're creating that community of 360 video content and using the power of the GoPros to be able to do that," he said.
As for GoPro's IPO, Kintner said he got in "a little bit" and will look to invest in the future "when it opens up full time for the public on Scottrade."
