BOB MCNAIR ON BEING HELD AT A HIGHER STANDARD

Our players are role models, there's no question about it. Whether they want to be or not. They are. So they're in the spotlight. So if they do something that's wrong, that's in the spotlight too. Whereas the normal incidence is not highlighted in that fashion. So we just have to recognize that we're being held to a higher standard and we need to act to a higher standard.

BOB MCNAIR ON TAKING ACTION

We can take action with a player without the league taking any action. But all that we can do is, we can deactivate him. But we're limited under the collective bargaining agreement to four games. So after that, we couldn't keep them off the field for that reason.

BOB MCNAIR ON POLICY

I think as a league, what we can do though and individual clubs can do is to just say, you know, this is something that we're not going to have happen. As a matter of policy from the beginning with our team, there have been three things we've said we won't draft a player if they've been involved in domestic violence, drug abuse, or if they show lack of respect for authority.

BOB MCNAIR ON LEAGUE BEING INVOLVED

But I think what the Commissioner has done, he's brought in some people who can help in terms of investigations of domestic violence. The lady he's brought in has handled over 300 cases a year, very experienced. And we just need to let people know this is not acceptable behavior.
