If there is any place in the world that let's you dress as your favorite superhero while rubbing shoulders with your favorite star, it's the fantasy land known as Comic Con.
The four-day extravaganza, which does a whistle-stop tour all through the U.S. during the year, is currently at the Javits Center in New York City. The geek-fest runs through Oct. 12 and is the event of the year for comic, TV and film fans.
The average price of each ticket was about $50, but you're out of luck. The event sold out quickly. VIP three-day and four-day passes were gone in 22 minutes, with a total of 151,100 tickets being purchased.

The convention, which first opened in 2006 only occupied 80,000 square feet and included 192 exhibitors. At this year's New York Comic Con there are 900 exhibitors, a 200,000 square foot showroom, and 2,000 different speakers and presenters.
Overall, $20 million was spent to host NYCC 2014.
