Oil as an investment has "done alright" over the years and with prices bottoming out, it may be time to buy, Nobel Laureate Robert Shiller told CNBC on Thursday.
"People as a whole underestimate the importance of commodities in their portfolio. They [commodities] have historically been a good investment, and they're also very uncorrelated with other investments," he said at the sidelines of the 18th annual Credit Suisse Asian Investment Conference in Hong Kong.
