Olive Garden owner Darden's quarterly sales rise 7 pct

Darden Restaurants reported a 7 percent rise in sales, helped by higher sales at its Olive Garden and LongHorn Steakhouse restaurants.

The company's sales rose to $1.73 billion in the third quarter ended Feb. 22, from $1.62 billion a year earlier.

Net income rose to $133.8 million, or $1.05 per share, from $109.7 million, or 82 cents per share.
