U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents seized $65,200 in counterfeit 100 dollar bills at John F. Kennedy airport in New York City, the agency said Tuesday.
The counterfeit money, which was concealed in place mats and a shoe bag from Ecuador, was arriving through parcels and was confiscated on Saturday, the agency said.
"Cooperation among agencies at JFK, and throughout New York, has allowed us to focus our resources and respond quickly to uncover and prevent counterfeiting and other criminal activity," it said in a statement.
No arrests have been made.
