"Play ball!" With the Major League Baseball season opening Sunday night, it's time to take a look at the homes owned or recently sold by 10 current or former players.

Among them are enormous mansions—two of them with more than 16,000 square feet of space—and comparatively modest homes, one at under 4,000 square feet.

Click on to discover who made out in the real estate market, and which player is trying to unload his home at a discount.

The former catcher for the Orioles, Braves and Red Sox has owned this stone mansion since 2003, according to the Realtor blog. Since then, he has attempted to sell it numerous times for as high as $3.5 million and as low as $2.35 million, and it is currently listed at the price above.

The home sits on an acre overlooking a lake in The River Club community, and some of its luxury features include a master suite with morning bar, a screened porch with fireplace, and a terrace level entertainment zone with poker table, billiards, pingpong, wine cellar and full-size mirrored wooden bar, home theater, hobby/work room and gym.

The property overlooks Biscayne Bay via floor to ceiling windows and has dock access for any yachting future owners. Miami's South Beach is blocks away and the Atlantic not much further.
