A five-alarm fire nearly leveled a structure run by GE in Louisville, Kentucky, Friday morning, according to The Courier-Journal.

The fire at GE Appliance Park prompted local officials to tell residents within a half mile of the site to shelter indoors, the Courier reported.

The Louisville Zoo also closed because of the smoke, local news reported.
