A mathematical explanation for hipsters?

A French mathematician has come up with his own equation to explain the "hipster" phenomenon , reports KING 5 News.

Jonathan Touboul claims his equation shows that all hipsters appear to look the same. The paradox states that when a group of people try to stay away from mainstream trends, they end up making the same choices as one another and in turn conform to the hipster style.

Touboul said his math can be applied to other social groups as well.
