Top stock picker's strategy for the second half

Paul Meeks, a notable investor who is outperforming the market in 2015, believes a contrarian approach could provide outsized returns for the second half of the year.

Meeks, director of institutional investing at Saturna Capital, is up 7 percent this year in the "Squawk Box" Platinum Portfolio, besting the S&P 500's 2.6 percent gain and putting him among the top performers in the contest.
