Tesla unveils autopilot technology

Tesla on Wednesday lifted the veil on its much-anticipated autopilot technology.

In a post on the automaker's website, which has since been taken down, Tesla outlined the Model S software update. It uses a combination of cameras, radar and ultrasonic sensors and data to automatically steer the vehicle.

Additional information is expected from the automaker on Wednesday.
