Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson rang the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange on Friday.
Earlier this week, Johnson spoke up about illegal immigration and his own take on the issue, which was a heated topic at the Republican presidential debate that aired on CNBC Wednesday.

"Those of us in public office and those of us who aspire to public office have a responsibility to be reasonable, fact-based, in our rhetoric and to not suggest things that are unreasonable, to whip up a lot of emotion in public, which can lead to government overreach, fear, suspicions and prejudice," Johnson said, according to USA Today.
The government entity that enforces immigration policies comes under the Department of Homeland Security umbrella.
