Red cup controversy aside, Americans can be very particular about their favorite Starbucks holiday concoctions. The Seattle-based company released a report Tuesday outlining the top holiday-themed drinks across nine different regions of the United States.
According to the company's release, the findings were "determined by examining the number of units sold per thousand of all Starbucks menu items."
It's perhaps no surprise that warmer states like Florida, California and Hawaii prefer cooler drinks like the peppermint mocha Frappuccino blended beverage, iced chestnut praline latte or iced peppermint mocha and caramel brulée Frappuccino blended beverage.
"Sun-lovers, vacationers and snowbirds get in the Christmas spirit with a frosty drink in hand," says the report.
Those in chillier regions like the Northeast, Midwest and Mid-Atlantic and Southeast "brave the cold" with warmer brews such as the holiday spice flat white, caramel brulée latte and gingerbread latte.
In the company's home turf of the Pacific Northwest, the festive eggnog latte reigns supreme. Out west in Texas and the mountains, customers prefer the chestnut praline and pumpkin spice lattes.
Starbucks could not be immediately reached for comment on public reaction to the report. These drinks are available at Starbucks locations until the end of the year.
