David Hertz is one of those rare people who has put into practice his ideas for helping the world and, in his case, the idea was inspired by food.

Chef, social entrepreneur and founder of "Gastromotiva", Hertz has always had a passion for food, believing that it not only provides people with skills but can create social cohesion.

CNBC's Tania Bryer talks with the social entrepreneur about setting up "Gastromotiva", a nonprofit dedicated to promoting social change through the use of food.

Hertz also talks about the 2016 Olympics in Rio De Janeiro, which he hopes will be a global success, despite the economic and social problems hitting Brazil.
