After-hours buzz: ADBE, SFLY, ARO & more

Check out the companies making headlines after the bell Thursday:

Adobe shares rose in extended trading Thursday after the digital-cloud giant reported earnings and revenues that beat analyst estimates. Based on its strong first-quarter results and business momentum, Adobe also announced that it will be increasing its annual revenue and earnings targets for the year, said Mark Garrett, Adobe chief financial officer, in a statement.

Shares of Columbia Pipeline Group also climbed after the bell when TransCanada, the company behind the controversial Keystone XL oil pipeline project, said it had agreed to buy the U.S. natural gas pipeline operator in a deal valued at $13 billion.

Aeropostale's stock tumbled in extended trading when the teen apparel retailer announced that it is exploring strategic alternatives, including a sale of the company. Aeropostale also said it is facing disruption in the supply of some merchandise due to a vendor dispute with an affiliate of Sycamore Partners.

"Regrettably, our short-term visibility is limited by our current vendor dispute," CEO Julian Geiger said in a statement.

Shares of Shutterfly edged lower after the digital retailer announced on Thursday it has appointed Christopher North as president and chief executive officer. Interim CEO Phil Marineau will continue to lead Shutterfly until North joins as CEO in May 2016.

Advanced Micro Devices shares were also lower in extended trading amid reports that Intel is looking to license AMD's graphics technology, according to StreetAccount.
