It hasn't been a pretty picture for GoPro.

While the stock has rallied double digits this week following news that a veteran Apple designer will be joining the team, it's still down 66% since its IPO.

Despite the dramatic decline, "Halftime Report" expert Jon Najarian jumped in yesterday, buying stock and options.

Today the company announced their new developer program, which makes it easier for companies to create apps for GoPro cameras. Najarian believes this is a catalyst that will drive the stock higher in the short term.

But the rest of the desk wasn't convinced. They highlighted key business mistakes the company has made along the way as indication that full recovery will be difficult.

"They had the audience...and they lost the momentum a year ago by not introducing a new product," Joe Terranova argued.

Pete Najarian believes that they priced their products incorrectly. "Operationally they [GoPro] didn't understand their buyer," he said.

A takeover would be a strategic next step for the company, Pete Najarian further argued. "They fit somewhere in the Apple ecosystem, and at these levels it makes sense," he said.
