The world's fourth busiest airport, Dallas-Fort Worth International, briefly closed runways because a suspect, surrounded by cops, was unwilling to leave a car on Wednesday morning, reported WFAA news.

What started off as a SWAT standoff became a police chase and finally a standoff in the east side parking lot close to the airport's main tower. The suspect has been arrested, according to WFAA.

#DFW Airport police are responding to a driver refusing to get out of a car in a remote area on the Airport's east side. Situation ongoing.

No flights have been canceled but 10 flights were delayed, the Federal Aviation Administration said in a statement.

The FAA briefly closed runways in the vicinity, but normal flight operations have resumed and flights are not affected at this time.

Details are how the chase began were not immediately available.
