The debut NFL game streamed on Twitter on Thursday night reached 2.1 million viewers, the social media company said on Friday.
That makes up part of the 15.7 million viewers across all platforms, including CBS. Viewers included in the figure tuned in to the regular game for more than 3 seconds for an average 22 minutes solely on Twitter, the company said.
The New York Jets versus Buffalo Bills football game marked the first in a National Football League deal that allows users to see curated tweeted commentary alongside a full live-streamed game. It allows Twitter to target ads.
Twitter shares popped nearly 1 percent in after-hours trade, after closing more than 4 percent higher in the regular trading session.
