Amazon is adding 120,000 holiday jobs. Here's where

Amazon's ranks just keep growing.

The online retailer said Thursday it will hire 120,000 seasonal workers this holiday, up 20 percent from 2015. That's also more than Target and J.C. Penney combined. The positions will serve Amazon's growing network of fulfillment and sorting centers, as well as its customer service sites.

Holiday forecasts are calling for sales to increase by 3 to 4 percent this season, though outplacement firm Challenger, Gray and Christmas predicts overall staffing will remain flat, at 738,800. That includes about 83,000 seasonal workers at Macy's, 77,500 at Target, 40,000 at Penney and 69,000 at Kohl's.

As the importance of the web grows, more of these positions are going toward digital operations. So where is Amazon adding jobs? See the map below for a city-by-city breakdown.
