Nintendo’s $59.99 NES Classic is in short supply … but you can buy one online for $1,000

Nintendo's NES Classic released on Thursday for $59.99 in the U.S. is already being sold on eBay for $1,000 as savvy sellers look to cash in on the short supply of the console.

The NES Classic comes with 30 games and a controller and harks back to Nintendo's heyday with titles including "Donkey Kong" and "Super Mario Bros".

Stocks have already sold out on Amazon while Best Buy is only selling it in-store. Gamestop is also only offering the NES Classic in store along with Target.

The short supply has led to those lucky people who have managed to buy a console selling them online for as much as $1,000. This marks a 1,567 percent increase on the original selling price.

Other listings on eBay are also high.

The NES Classic connects to the TV like a modern console with a HDMI cable. The games are all pre-installed on the system. Nintendo has kept the original graphics of the games.
