Meet Arran, 38, from Bournemouth. Arran lives with his wife Pamela, and 12 year old daughter Isabella. Living by the coast he gets to enjoy days at the beach with his family and sailing.
He has worked as a car salesman from the age of 17, and also worked as a holiday rep in Ibiza. It was out in Ibiza that he realised the need for his business. After heading down to the beach with a cool box for drinks and a speaker for the music, he thought why can't the two be combined?
Arran founded MyKoolBox three years ago, personally investing £30,000 of his own money into the research and development of the idea. MyKoolBox is a cool box that incorporates splash proof speakers, so you can listen to your music via bluetooth, and it also has custom made front panels that can be used for any personal design and also for branding.
He has a full business plan and a patent, but what he needs now is extra capital, manufacturing and business expertise to produce more boxes to sell at a competitive price.
From China he hopes to gain relationships with manufacturers and get quotes for speakers that will be installed in the final product.
