Strategist Tom Lee on his favorite ideas under the Trump administration

Fundstrat's Tom Lee shared his views on the market and on President Donald Trump in an interview Tuesday on CNBC's "Squawk Box."

On his favorite ideas: "I think it's easier for investors to bet on things that you don't require acts of Congress to change," he said. "Things that can happen by executive orders are the things that are investable. That's a lot of deregulation plays. … Where's earnings growth? It's coming from the banks, energy, materials, technology, even telecoms. I think that's the easier way to make money this year."

Lee is managing partner and the head of research at Fundstrat. He has over 25 years of experience in equity research. Prior to co-founding Fundstrat, he was JPMorgan's chief equity strategist from 2007 to 2014.

He also discusses:

  • Bonds
  • Inflation
  • Market valuation
