White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders briefed reporters on Friday afternoon, following President Donald Trump's meeting with United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres.

The briefing came one day after the Republican-controlled Senate narrowly passed a $4 trillion federal budget late Thursday night. The passage of a budget bill clears the way for senators later this year to pass a sweeping tax reform bill with a simple majority, instead of the 60 votes typically needed to bring a Senate bill to a vote.
