Home-food delivery company HelloFresh said it's acquired Boulder-based organic and vegan food home delivery company Green Chef for an undisclosed price.

Green Chef was founded by CEO Michael Joseph in 2014 and delivers packages of vegan and gluten-free food to customers.

"The acquisition of Green Chef will drive synergies for operations, logistics, and procurement. HelloFresh will gain its first office and production facility in the state of Colorado and integrate Green Chef into its operations and culinary teams," HelloFresh said.

"With HelloFresh, we will only further amplify our mission to give consumers across the country a simple way to eat and live healthier," Joseph said in a statement.

Germany-based HelloFresh was founded in 2013 and competes in the home food delivery market against competitors like Blue Apron, Home Chef and others.

Green Chef expanded to the East Coast in late 2015.
