Democrat Susan Wild wins Pennsylvania's 7th district, defeating Republican Marty Nothstein

• While the district had been represented by Republican Charlie Dent, redistricting opened up more left-tilting territory. This year, analysts rated it as leaning Democrat, and polling showed Wild with a steady lead.
• Nothstein, a county commissioner, said he ran as a conservative outsider. Wild's policy positions were largely progressive, and she outraised her opponent 2 to 1 at the close of the election.
