Brazil Congress may soon tap lawmaker to lead pension reform -chief of staff

BRASILIA, March 28 (Reuters) - The congressional committee debating Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro's landmark pension reform proposal may name a lead legislator for the bill on Thursday, presidential chief of staff Onyx Lorenzoni told reporters.

That would open the door for a more substantial debate on the proposed social security overhaul, which had lost momentum over the past week, adding to a sharp sell-off in local financial markets. (Reporting by Mateus Maia; Editing by Dan Grebler)
