These stocks reporting next week usually beat the Street and rise

Next week brings a little bit of calm to break up a bustling few weeks of earnings reporting for many large companies. Still, the earnings season continues with plenty of opportunities for potential profit for astute traders. CNBC Pro identified several companies reporting earnings in the week beginning Aug. 9 that usually beat analysts' expectations and rise after their reports, using data from Bespoke Investment Group. Each of the stocks on this week's list beat estimates on earnings per share at least 80% of the time and have an average next-day gain of at least 1%, Bespoke's data shows. Perhaps the biggest name on the list is Baidu , which historically has beat earnings per share estimates 80% of the time. The "Google of China" could see ad demand weaken in the second half of the year, according analysts at UBS . Still, the firm is maintaining its buy rating on the stock, it said in a note to investors Friday. UBS said it sees progress in both car and cloud businesses. Online ad businesses, it added, could suffer from some market-wide pressure in the near term but overall have recovered from the negative impacts of the pandemic. The edtech stock Chegg is down about 7% for the year. However, education's digital transformation is still in its early days and Chegg is the best business model in the sector, according to analysts at Jefferies, who see potential 30% top- and bottom-line growth to the stock. Chegg historically beats earnings estimates 83% of the time, Bespoke data shows. The information security firm CyberArk has beaten earnings forecasts 100% of the time, and it's currently transitioning its business to a subscription model, which Wolfe Research estimates will double the lifetime value of its customers. "The pandemic environment accelerated the adoption of cloud technologies which significantly increases the amount and rate at which privileged credentials can be created in the IT environment," Wolfe analysts said in a note Friday. — CNBC's Michael Bloom contributed to this report.
