CNBC's "Power Lunch" (M-F 2PM – 3PM) kicks off the 2022 CNBC Stock Draft on Thursday, April 28th in which ten teams will compete virtually for the ultimate title of "Stock Draft Champion." The financial competition is ready for another year with notable players including: Grammy Award Winner, Entrepreneur and TV Personality Kandi Burruss; Stock and Crypto TikTok Star Kayla Kilbride; Hightower Chief Investment Strategist and Portfolio Manager Stephanie Link; Former Macy's CEO Terry Lundgren; O'Shares Investments Chairman and 2017 Stock Draft champion Kevin O'Leary; Actor and Entrepreneur Ryan Reynolds; NBA Hall of Famer David Robinson; Saint Peter's University Student Managed Investment Fund; New Street Advisors Group CEO & Founder Delano Saporu; and Seymour Asset Management Founder and Chief Investment Officer Tim Seymour.
Will Ryan Reynolds take the role of Stock Draft champion, or does Kandi Burruss know what high note to hit to win the title? Will Kayla Kilbride pick the winning stocks, or will David Robinson shoot and score the final shot? Are Saint Peter's University Student Managed Investment Fund's students up for the challenge or will Delano Saporu know the right investments to make? Does Terry Lundgren have what it takes, or will the veterans Tim Seymour, Mr. Wonderful and Stephanie Link bring home the crown? The stakes have never been higher, and anyone could take the 2022 title.
Each team will choose two investments from a pre-determined list of 60 stocks and commodities, spanning everything from new IPOs to crypto, tech heavyweights and even some of the most beaten down names in the market. CNBC will then track the performance of each team's two investments until the Friday before the NFL Super Bowl (February 10th, 2023) when the team with the best average appreciation will take all.
