Here's the buyback and dividend status for each of the 34 stocks in our portfolio

In this turbulent market, we aim to buy stocks in companies that return cash to shareholders. Remember, buybacks reduce the outstanding shares of a company and make your slice of the pie — as an investor — bigger, even if you don't buy any more stock. Dividends pay you to hold the stock. In addition to any price appreciation in shares, you get paid — and if the stock does down, you get paid, too. Most of our holdings engage in share buybacks or pay dividends — many of them do both. Here's a look at the buyback and dividend status of all 34 positions in our portfolio. Apple (AAPL) Share repurchases : The iPhone maker increased its authorization by $90 billion in late April. It is a regular buyer of its own stock, repurchasing $22.9 billion worth of shares last quarter. Dividend : Recently, it announced a 5% increase in its quarterly dividend. The current yield is about 0.6%. AbbVie (ABBV) Share repurchases : The biopharmaceutical company did not repurchase stock last quarter. Dividend : In October 2021, it announced an 8.5% increase to its dividend. The current yield is about 3.74%. American Eagle Outfitters (AEO) Share repurchases : The retailer did not repurchase stock last quarter. Dividend : The current dividend yield is about 5.13%. Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) Share repurchases : After repurchasing $1.9 billion of stock in the first quarter, the chip designer had $8.3 billion remaining authorized. Dividend : The company did pay a dividend last quarter. Amazon (AMZN) Share repurchases : The e-commerce and cloud giant announced a $10 billion share repurchase program in March. Dividend : The company does not pay a dividend. Boeing (BA) The aircraft maker was once known for its increasing dividend payout and aggressive buybacks, but those have been put on hold since the Covid pandemic first began. The company will need to become free cash flow positive — expected this year — and the balance sheet must be cleaned up — possible equity offering — before either will resume. We bought Boeing shares in late 2020 in hopes that those things were going to happen faster. Bausch Health Cos . (BHC) The pharma, eyecare and medical aesthetics company does not pay a dividend or repurchase stock. Paying down debt is its main focus. We bought BHC late last year into this year, on the thought its plan to split in three — which has taken longer due to the market turmoil — would help the company pay its debt quicker and allow some of its higher-valued businesses to grow independently. Unfortunately, the Bausch + Lomb IPO last week could not have been priced at a worse time. Costco (COST) Share repurchases : The big box retailer is not known for its share repurchases. In April 2019, the company reauthorized a program of up to $4 billion that expires in April 2023. Dividend : The company raised its dividend by about 14% in April. The current yield is about 0.72%. Although there's not much here in terms of pure dividend yield, recently Costco has issued a special cash dividend to shareholders roughly every other year. The last one was announced in November 2020 and was for $10 per share. Salesforce (CRM) The customer relationship management platform does not pay a dividend and has no history of buybacks. Cisco Systems (CSCO) Share repurchases : The computer networking company announced a $15 billion increase to its share repurchase program in February, bringing the total authorized to $18 billion. Cisco repurchased nearly $5 billion worth of stock last quarter. Dividend : It increased its dividend for the 12 th time this past February. The current yield is about 3.1%. Coterra Energy (CTRA) Share repurchases : After buying back $184 million worth of stock last quarter, the company had $1.066 billion remaining under its authorization. That equates to roughly 4% of the current market cap. Dividend : Its board announced a quarterly base-plus-variable dividend of $0.60 per share. This equates to an annualized yield of about 8.2% based on the current stock price. Chevron (CVX) Share repurchases : With its recent earnings report, management increased its buyback guidance to a $10 billion annual run rate. Remember, at its March Investor Day, management said it can repurchase up to 25% of the total shares outstanding if Brent crude prices average $75 per barrel over five years. Brent, the international oil benchmark, and the American benchmark, West Texas intermediate crude , were around $100 per barrel, as of this writing. Dividend : The energy company increased its dividend by 6% earlier this year. It was the 35 th consecutive year with an increase to the annual dividend payout. The current dividend yield is about 3.57%. Danaher (DHR) Share repurchases : The medical diagnostics and life sciences company is more known for making acquisitions over buybacks. Dividend : The company pays a small dividend. The yield is 0.42%. Disney (DIS) The entertainment giant suspended its buyback after the 21 st Century Fox deal, and the dividend was suspended at the start of the pandemic. The semi-annual dividend could come back in 2023. Devon Energy (DVN) Share repurchases : The company increased its repurchase program by 25% to $2 billion last quarter. This represents about 4% of the current market cap. Dividend : It recently announced a fixed-plus-variable dividend payout of $1.27 per share. On an annualized basis, the dividend yield is 8.2%. Ford (F) Share repurchases : The automaker did not repurchase stock last quarter. Dividend : The company resumed paying a dividend last October. The current dividend yield is about 2.96%. Facebook parent Meta Platforms (FB) Share repurchases : The company repurchased $9.4 billion worth of stock in the first quarter Dividend : The company has no history of paying a dividend. Google parent Alphabet (GOOGL) Share repurchases : The company announced a $70 billion increase to its share repurchase authorization last quarter. Dividend : The company has no history of paying a dividend. Halliburton (HAL) Share repurchases : The oilfield services company is not currently repurchasing stock but has said before it may reinstitute the buyback with its excess free cash flow. Dividend : It increased its dividend by 166% earlier this year. The current yield is 1.45%. Honeywell (HON) Share repurchases : The industrial company is an active buyer of its stock. It repurchased $2 billion worth of shares in the first quarter and plans to repurchase $4 billion over the full year. Dividend : The company increased its dividend by about 5% in October. The current dividend yield is about 2.0%. Humana (HUM) Share repurchases : The health insurance company does repurchase stock but it utilized most of its buyback in January 2022 through a $1 billion accelerated share repurchase agreement. Dividend : The company pays a small dividend. The current yield is about 0.75%. Eli Lilly (LLY) Share repurchases : The drugmaker repurchased $1.5 billion worth of stock in the first quarter. Dividend : The current yield is about 1.36%. Linde (LIN) Share repurchases : The industrial gas company announced a buyback program of up to $10 billion in February and aggressively deployed it during the March swoon. Through April, it had already spent $1.7 billion. Dividend : The company also increased its dividend by 10%. The current yield is about 1.55%. Marvell Technology (MRVL) Share repurchases : The semiconductor maker has said previously that they plan to restart share repurchases by the end of the second quarter of fiscal 2023. The quarter reported in March was the fourth quarter of fiscal 2022, so a couple more quarters to go. Dividend : The company pays a small dividend. The current yield is 0.44%. Morgan Stanley (MS) Share repurchases : The bank repurchased about $2.87 billion worth of shares last quarter as part of a $12 billion buyback program. Dividend : The current dividend yield is 3.54%. Microsoft (MSFT) Share repurchase : The software and cloud company bought back $7.8 billion worth of stock last quarter as part of a $60 billion share buyback program. Dividend : The current dividend yield is 0.93%. Nvidia (NVDA) Share repurchases : The maker of processors for computing said at its March Investor Day that it repurchased $2 billion of stock in the current quarter and had $5.2 billion remaining on its authorization. Dividend : The company pays a tiny dividend. The current yield is 0.09%. Procter & Gamble (PG) Share repurchases : The consumer staples company repurchased $1.2 billion worth of stock in the recent quarter. Dividend : It company announced a 5% increase to its dividend last month. The current yield is 2.35%. PayPal (PYPL) Share repurchase : The fintech company repurchased $1.5 billion worth of stock in the first quarter. Dividend : The company does not pay a dividend. Qualcomm (QCOM) Share repurchases : In October 2021, the chip company announced a $10 billion share repurchase program. Last quarter, the company repurchased $951 million worth of stock. Dividend : It announced a 10% increase to its dividend last quarter. The current yield is about 2.2%. Constellation Brands (STZ) Share repurchases : The beer, wine, and spirits company announced on April 7 an accelerated share repurchase (ASR) worth $500 million. It's expected to be completed no later than May 2022. The company has $2.6 billion remaining in authorization after the effect of the ASR. Dividend : The company recently increased its dividend by 5%. The current yield is roughly 1.30%. Wells Fargo (WFC) Share repurchases : The bank's buyback is pretty much on pause in the second quarter after it repurchased $6 billion worth of shares in the first quarter. We expect a new program will be announced in the coming months. Dividend : The company increased its dividend by 25% in January. The current yield is roughly 2.27%. Walmart (WMT) Share repurchases : The retailer has said it plans to repurchase at least $10 billion worth of stock in fiscal 2023. Dividend : In February, the company announced a 2% increase to its dividend. The current yield is about 1.48%. Wynn Resorts (WYNN) The gaming company does not pay a dividend or repurchase stock.
