CNBC Achieves Sustainability Gold Standard for New Singapore Headquarters

SINGAPORE, 9 October 2023 – CNBC, First in Business Worldwide, has today announced that its Asia-Pacific headquarters in Singapore has achieved the Green Mark Gold certification, awarded by the Building and Construction Authority (BCA). This certification recognises CNBC's commitment to environmental sustainability across its global facilities, in line with Comcast NBCUniversal's goal to be carbon neutral by 2035.

Located within the Mapletree Business City (MBC) development in Pasir Panjang, the facility opened earlier this year and is the company's single largest investment in the region, since the APAC business was established in 1993. It comprises of a new production studio, control rooms, a global transmission centre and office space, housing the majority of CNBC's international staff in Asia.

CNBC has earned the Green Mark Gold certification by implementing sustainability measures such as sourcing renewable and clean energy and improving the energy efficiency of equipment and spaces.

John Casey, President and Managing Director of CNBC International, said: "Sustainability is at the core of CNBC's values. In this climate, it is imperative for companies to invest in green strategies, and we are pleased by this recognition of our commitment to the environment. Singapore has been our Asia-Pacific home for the past three decades and with this significant investment in a brand new, sustainable facility, we are futureproofing our operations in the region and demonstrating our continued confidence in Singapore as an exemplary green city and a global hub for business and trade."
